Seven looking for MoMA festival

New Company directors/New Films, the annual festival that teams Film Society of Lincoln subsequently Center with Gotham's Museum of contemporary Art, has set a preliminary slate of seven features which includes Cannes Camera d'Or champion "Las Acacias" and "Oslo, August 31st," the Norwegian drama potential seen at Sundance. Now in the 41st year, ND/NF typically showcases between 25 and 28 photos from emerging auteurs in the helm of directorial debuts or sophomore efforts. Among the list of the helming debuts only at that year's fest are "Las Acacias," the Argentinian road movie from Pablo Giorgelli, in addition to juvenile-detention drama "Breathing," directed by Austrian actor Karl Markovics Julia Murat's "Found Reminiscences," a portrait of the imaginary Brazilian town that acquired an award in the Abu Dhabi Intl. Film Festival and "Twilight Portrait," Angelina Nikonova's film concerning the aftermath of the rape in modern Russian city. "Oslo, August 31," the approaching Sundance pic in regards to a recuperating addict in Oslo, may be the second film from Joachim Trier. Other sophomore helmers around the ND/NF selection are Anca Damian, together with her animated Romanian doc "Crulic: The road to Beyond," and "Porfirio," Alejandro Landes' Colombian entry in regards to a guy paralyzed in the waist lower when he's caught within the crossfire of the police shooting.
